Calapan City Mayor Arnan Panaligan has spearheaded an assessment meeting regarding the flooding experienced by his city last December 30, 2018.

Present during the meeting were PSD Chief Nelson Aboboto and Office of Civil Defense MiMaRoPa Regional Director MGen Ruben L. Carandang at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Conference Room yesterday.

Panaligan also pushed for “massive reforestation” to mitigate flooding incidents in the city.

Meanwhile, the city government took the initiative to conduct desilting onf one of the canals of the National Irrigation Authority which was blocked by silt after the onslaught of Tropical Depression Usman.

“Better to take action and help in solving problems rather that wait or criticize,” he added.
