A unity walk, interfaith prayer rally and peace covenant signing for the 2019 midterm elections has been simultaneously held in various local government units in Oriental Mindoro.

Governor Alfonso Umali, Jr., Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali, and Calapan City Mayor Arnan Panaligan were just few of the local government executives who graced the event last Jan. 13.

The election period formally kicked off last Sunday marked by the start of the Comelec nationwide gun ban.

The Comelec also said that the deputized agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education ( DepEd), volunteers, the church and the voters will play a big role this coming elections.
