Palawan Capitol’s e-governance unit lays down 2019 initiatives


The E-Governance Office of the Palawan provincial government has laid down its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Initiatives for this year.

Among the ICT Initiatives planned this year are the Palaweño ICT Association Membership Assembly, Data Privacy/Cyber Security Training-Workshop, Provincial Capitol Hackthon, and Palawan ICT Council Ordinance.

The BIMP-EAGA Livex (Livelihood Exchange) and the PGP ICT E-gov Awards will also be held during the National ICT Month.

Programs related to Entrepreneurship, Startup and Innovation such as Palawan Innovation Challenge, E3 (Entrepreneurs Empowering Entrepreneurs) startup workshop and Southern Luzon Summit will likewise be offered this year.

“Ngayon, more on robotics and artificial intelligence na tayo ayaw natin mapahuli gusto natin ma-develop ang skills lalo na ang mga taga-Palawan. Gusto natin maging entrepreneurial, innovative, at gumawa ng mga imbensyon na gawang Palaweño, yan ang gusto nating tahakin,” Jet Montablan, executive director of Palaweño ICT Association, was quoted as saying.

The provincial government has partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to implement the programs related to Prototyping programs for local Innovations, Startup promotions and Promotion of 21st skills.
