Oriental Mindoro Governor Umali graces this year’s RESCUELYMPICS


Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso V. Umali, Jr. has graced the opening of this year’s iteration of RESCUELYMPICS at the Bulwagang Panlalawigan, Capitol Complex.

The event featured the several Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices in the province.

The said offices showcased their skills during the event, organized by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by DRRM Officer Vicente Gahol.

Prior to the event, Governor Umali, PDRRM Officer Gahol and Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) Program Manager Mr. Tony Reyes awarded disaster equipment and rescue boats to the Municipalities of Puerto Galera, Socorro, Pola, Bansud and Roxas.

“Gov. Umali commended the DRRM personnel of each LGUs for the implementation of disaster risk reduction and management programs resulting to communities which are resilient to disasters,” the provincial government said.

“He also acknowledged MFI for its continuous support to the province of Oriental Mindoro,” it added.

At the culmination of the event, the Municipality of Baco bagged the third place; San Teodoro took home the second place; and Puerto Galera was named the first place.
