Ako Bicol Partylist’s bill which seeks to provide mandatory PhilHealth coverage to persons with disability is one step closer to becoming a law.

Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Alfredo Garbin said that the Conference Committee Report for PWDs’ Mandatory PhilHealth Coverage Bill has already been submitted to President Rody Duterte for approval.

“PWDs’ Mandatory PhilHealth Coverage Bill” ng Ako Bicol Party List, maisasabatas na!,” said the partylist.

Rep. Garbin was one of the House officials appounted to the bicameral conference committee.

Garbin said that the proposed law serves as a gift to all PWDs and a reminder that their rights are also protected and respected.

Under the Constitution, the President has 30 days to sign the bill into a law. In case of inaction on the part of the President, the bill will automatically lapse into law after the 30-day period.
