Environment, nutrition scholars from Busuanga, Coron towns undergo skills development training
Barangay Environment and Nutrition Scholars (BEANS) from Busuanga and Coron towns have undergone Basic Course Training.
A total of 45 scholars took the training in Kamalig Farm, Barangay Poblacion, Coron, which aims to enhance their skills.
Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO) Rachel T. Paladan said that the said training aims to develop the coordination skill; advocacy skills; and nutrition counseling of the scholars.
Paladan said that BEANS from Brooke’s Point, Araceli and Narra will undergo the same training before this year ends. She said that there are around 800 BEANS in Palawan.
The said program is pursuant to the Presidential Decree No. 1569 or “Strengthening the Barangay Nutrition Program by providing for a Barangay Nutrition Scholar in every barangay, providing funds thereof, and for other purposes.”
