Calapan City gov’t spearheards Buntis Congress 2018
Over 300 pregnant women have participated in the 13th Buntis Congress in Calapan City last October 23.
The event carries the theme: “Pagbibigay Buhay sa Nagbibigay Buhay” and was held at the DWCC gymnasium.
Vice Mayor Gil Ramirez, who graced the event, said that the pregnant women have learned so much from the guest speakers.
Ramirez also said that the parents have the responsibility to take good care of their children although they have yet to be born and the government also has the duty to protect the mother and the unborn.
Meawhile, Dr. Ma. Teresita N. Bolor, City Health and Sanitation Department Program Manager, said that the event aims to educate the parents of responsible parenthood and family planning.
Dr. Dolor also said that around 2% of women still give birth at home and the city government aims to trim it down to 0%.
