Camarines Sur gears up for possible effects of Typhoon Mangkhut

Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte has directed local government units to be on top of every situation amid the possible effects of Typhoon Mangkhut.

Villafuerte issued Memorandum No. 1 yesterday as part of the preparation for the coming typhoon.

Typhoon Mangkhut is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. PAGASA said that the typhoon might enter the country tomorrow, Wednesday.

“In preparation for the possible effects of the coming Typhoon MANGKHUT (international name), all C/MDRRMCs are advised to closely monitor the said weather condition and take precautionary measures,” Villafuerte said in his directive.

“You are also hereby requested to put on standby your respective contingency and preparedness plans for possible implementation,” he added.

The governor also prohibited all fisherfolks, sea transport operators, and other sea-going entities venture out into the sea starting yesterday.

According to the state weather bureau, typhoon Mangkhut is strengthening as it gears toward entering PAR.
