Malapit na! Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento says province close to getting abaca capital title
Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento is very excited to get a special title for his home province.
In a Facebook post, Sarmiento happily announced that the House Committee on Agriculture has approved the bill declaring Catanduanes the Abaca Capital of the Philippines.
Sarmiento is the main proponent of the measure, which is seen to give a boost to Catanduanes’ abaca industry and especially to the farmers in the province.
The bill is set to go to the plenary where it will hopefully be approved without delay.
We’re sure Catanduanes can’t wait to get its new moniker!
Pasado sa Initial deliberation ng Committee on Agriculture ang House Bill 7369, Declaring Catanduanes as Abaca Capital of the Philippines. Ang batas na ito na isinusulong ni Cong Cesar ang makapagbibigay ng malaking tulong sa Abaca Industry ng bansa at lalong-lalo na sa mga magsasaka natin sa isla.
#CatanduanesAbacaCapitalOfThePhilippines,” Sarmiento posted on Facebook.
