Don’t panic! No dengue outbreak in Odiongan, says Mayor Trina Fabic
People may have been contracting dengue in Odiongan, Romblon, but it doesn’t mean the virus is spreading uncontrollably.
Odiongan Mayor Trina Fabic asked her constituents to remain calm as she sought to quell rumors that a dengue outbreak has been declared in town or in any Romblon municipality.
Fabic said this was the information coming from the the Rural Health Unit, Provincial Health Office, and Department of Health-Romblon.
While 60 dengue cases and one death have been recorded since January, officials are working to prevent the spread of the virus, Fabic said.
Efforts are underway to clear the breeding areas of mosquitos, she said. She also called on people to be careful.
But most of all, they should not panic as things are under control, she added.
Salamat po,” she said in a Facebook post.
