The Occidental Mindoro’s Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) has distributed bags of certified seeds in two barangays in Sablayan.

Barangays Ilvita and Baloc Baloc received 150 bags ng certified seeds from the OPA, led by its OIC Nonoy Barranda.

“Ayon kay Nonoy Barranda, OIC ng OPA ang paunang 300 bags ay para sa mga ‘masterlisted’ na magsakaka sa pinagsamang validation ng DA-Region MIMAROPA, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, at Municipal Agricultural Office,” said the province.

The province said that the Agriculture department in the region has been tasked by Sec. Manny Piñol to extend help to the province.

Nene R. Sato, Gov. Gene Mendiola, Vice Gov Peter J Alfaro at mga Mayor ng ibat ibang pamahalaang bayan,” the province said.

Tropical Depression Josie and habagat brought heavy rains in the province late last month.

The calamity caused damage in agriculture and infrastructure in Occidental Mindoro worth hundred of millions.
