Albay Provincial Development Council holds meeting to discuss projects, programs


The Albay Provincial Development Council held a full council meeting yesterday to discuss the development plans in the province.

The meeting, held at AECID Hall, APSEMO building, was conducted to present the following agenda: Annual Investment Program CY 2018; Updates on the Provincial Development Investment Program 2019-22; Economic Development Plan CY 2019; and Gender and Development Plan CY 2019.

Engr. Macario Pavia (PPDC) presided the Provincial Development Council, and gave an overview of the abovementioned agenda.

First on the list was Budget department circular letter which sets the procedural guidelines on the conduct of Regional Development Council (RDC) dialogues on proposed programs and projects for FY 2019.

It was followed by the presentation of the Annual Investment Program and was subjected for the approval of the body.

Cities and municipalities were given a week to submit their proposals so that it may be incorporated in the PDIP.

Also tackled was the presentation of Economic Development Plan.

Accoding to the presentation, the JBDMH will expand its services by using the idle building in Polangui as its extension as an infirmary offering OPD and preventive care which will cater to the needs of Polangui and Libon residents. Villahermosa District Hospital will also expand its medical services and facilities to Barangay Batan.

The projects presented were pursuant to the orders of Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara to “improve all health facilities and equipment in all the district hospitals in Albay.”

Meanwhile, Cynthia Samale, a GAD Focal person, and PCW Commission Tet Triunfante presented the Gender and Development Plan for 2019.
