Calapan City successfully holds 5th bloodletting drive; 165 bags of blood collected
The Calapan City Blood Council has successfully held a bloodletting activity anew as it received a total of 165 bags of blood.
The 5th Blood Letting Activity 2018 was held at the Sta. Ana Maria Village covered court last July 28 and was led by the Calapan City Blood Council (CCBC), chaired by Vice Mayor Gil Ramirez.
The bloodletting activity was supported by the Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Health and Sanitation Department and Liga in partnership with the Oriental Mindoro Blood Council.
The 19 barangays in the district 3 also joined the bloodletting drive.
Calapan City Police Station (CPS), Oriental Mindoro Provincial Police Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Regional Maritime Police Office 4B, SK Calapan City Federation, DepEd, 4P’s, Oriental Mindoro Media Club, among others also participated in the event.
“Layon ng CCBC ang patuloy na makalikom ng dugo upang mapunan ang kakulangan nito para sa mga pasyenteng higit na nangangailangan,” the city government said.
“Lubos namang nagpaabot ng pasasalamat si Vice Mayor at CCBC Chairman Ramirez sa blood donors na nakiisa sa nasabing gawain partikular na ang mga doctor na gumanap at nagbahagi ng kanilang oras sa nasabing gawain,” it added.
City Councilor Mylene De Jesus, Co- Chairman of the CCBC, also expressed gratitude to all who participated in the bloodletting drive.
“Samantala, matatandaan na ang Calapan City Blood Council ng pamumunuan ni Vice Gil ay nakapagtala ng may pinakamaraming nakolektang dugo sa mga government initiated blood letting activity sa buong lalawigan ng Oriental Mindoro,” said the city.
“Asahan rin na tuloy-tuloy ang kampanyang ito upang higit na maraming nangangailangan ng dugo ang matulungan,” it added.
