The Albay Provincial Government has initiated an Earthquake Warning and Evacuation Drills yesterday at the Capitol.

The Provincial Human Resource Management Office spearheaded the activity

“This drill aims to prepare employees from different offices inside Albay Capitol to safely evacuate when an 8.2 magnitude earthquake occurs,” said the province.

“They also practiced safety drills for fire and structural failure scenarios,” it added.

Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) head, Dr. Cedric Daep started with the briefing and designation of officers in each office such as BFP, EMS, Red Cross and other staff from the Capitol.

“Duck, cover and hold were observed. Emergency evacuation of 2 injured people (actors from GO and Assessors Office) were properly executed with the help of teams from BFP, EMS and Red Cross,” said the province.

The drill ended with the evaluation and observation from evaluators and followed by presentations of several recommendations.
