133 laws enacted! Oriental Mindoro Rep. Umali touts achievements of 16th Congress as sessions resume today
Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali has touted the achievements of the 16th Congress in lieu of the opening of the Congress session today.
Umali, chairman of the powerful House committee on justice, said that after 2 years, 133 House bills have been enacted into law.
Umali thanked his constituents for the trust and support given to him, noting that they are the reason why he works hard at the lower House.
“Bilang Representate ng Ikalawang Distrito ng Oriental Mindoro sa Kongreso, malugod ko pong ibinabalita sainyo na mula noong Hulyo 2016 ay 133 House Bills na po ang naaprubahan upang maging isang ganap na batas,” said Umali.
“Para sa aking mga kababayan, maraming salamat sa inyong suporta at tiwala. Kayo ang pangunahing dahilan kung bakit ako naglilingkod bilang isang Kongresista,” he added.
Umali also thanked his colleagues in Congress for their efforts and hardwork to pass these laws.
“At sa aking mga kapwa Kongresista, hanga ako sa inyong ipinakitang pagmahahal at dedikasyon sa ating trabaho. Ako ay umaasa na sama-sama at tulong tulong tayo upang makapag dulot ng pagbabago sa ating mga nasasakupan,” said Umali.
The Congress resumes its session today after an almost two-month break.
President Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to deliver his third State of the Nation Address today at the House of Representatives.
