Naga City is PH’s first Halal hub as Mayor Bongat signs MOA with Malaysia’s DagangNet


Mayor John Bongat is out to prove that the Naga City is ready to conquer the world.

In his bid to tap the huge Muslim market, Mayor Bongat has signed a memorandum of agreement making Naga City a certified “Halal hub.”

Bongat visited Kuala Lumpur today to sign the agreement with the Malaysia’s DagangNet.

The agreement signifies that Naga City is the first Halal hub in the country, which is expected to bring benefits for the city.

“IN KUALA LUMPUR today where I, on behalf of the city, together with DepEd’s Dr. William Gando, signed the MOA with Malaysia’s DagangNet, officially making making Naga as the first Halal hub in the Philippines,” Mayor Bongat said.

The mayor said that the agreement will attract the Muslim market all over the world.

“Naga and Bicol’s tourism and products, once Halal-certified, will be able to attract travelers and buyers from the world’s huge and rich Muslim market!,” he said.
