The Calapan City council is pushing for the passage of an ordinance that will regulate the installation of distribution lines of utility companies in the city.

Councilor Lorybelle Tanyag-Panaligan authored the local law titled “An ordinance regulating the installation and maintenance of distribution lines of various utilities in the City of Calapan,” which the council tackled recently.

Under the proposed ordinance, all posts to built by electric power, cable network and telecommunications company need to undergo the scrutiny of the City Engineering for the Approved Pole Location.

Barangays are also mandated under the proposed ordinance to follow the standard procedure in installing streetlights and CCTV to prevent entangled electric lines.
