The Albay Provincial Government has called on various agencies and other stakeholders for a coordination meeting regarding the sports activities of the province.
The provincial government, through the Provincial Sports Office in partnership with Philippine Sports Commission and Bicol University gathered all Education department Albay and LGU Sports Coordinators, Albay schools, colleges, university coaches, as well as the Albay SK Federation Officials for the said meeting held yesterday.
“Matters regarding Albay Sports Summit, MOA Signing between PGA, BU and PSC, the Governor’s Cup Season 20, and the Albay Provincial Inter-Agency Sportsfest were the reason that the meeting was called upon,” the province said.
James Nuñez, Sports Coordinator of the Philippine Sports Commission, discussed the First-ever Albay Sports Summit slated next month, from July 24-26.
Moreover, the provincial government said that the major activities for the Sports Summit includes Sports Science, Sports Consultative Conference, and the Grassroots Coaching and Officiating Program which aims to train sports leaders, practitioners and other sport stakeholders on basketball, volleyball, athletics, baseball and boxing.
On the other hand, Mr. Leonardo Flores, the Albay Provincial Sports Coordinator, talked about the 20th Season of Governor’s Cup that will start July this year.
He explained that Governor Al Francis Bichara wants to start Governor’s cup as soon as possible to prevent the overlapping of schedules with Bicol and Provincial Meet.
