Justice delayed is justice denied.
Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali, the chairman of House committee on justice, said that his panel has approved measures creating additional branches of courts in the country.
The House justice panel unanimously passed yesterday a total of ten bills creating more regional and municipal trial courts.
“Yesterday (May 29), we at the House Committee on Justice approved a total of 10 bills seeking the creation of additional branches of regional and municipal courts in the country,” Rep. Umali said.
Umali said that thousands of cases have been clogged in court dockets, taking them long years before they could be disposed.
The Oriental Mindoro solon said that they took steps in solving the backlog of courts in the country by creating more courts.
“We took the initiative of creating new court branches to speed up the resolutions of thousands of pending cases that have clogged our court dockets for years, resulting to delays in the administration of justice,” he said.
“Justice delayed is justice denied, the old legal maxim goes,” added Umali.
