VP Leni ‘saddened’ by low turnout of voters in her precinct in Naga City
Vice President Leni Robredo felt dismayed over the low turnout of voters in her precinct in Naga City.
Robredo was accompanied by her daughter Tricia at the Tabuco Central School yesterday morning to cast vote for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections 2018.
Robredo hoped that more voted would come and exercise their right to suffrage.
“At Tabuco Central School this morning to cast my vote for the Barangay and SK elections, along with my daughter Tricia,” said the Vice President.
“Saddened by the low turnout of voters, and I hope that more will come out to vote today while there is still time,” she added.
Robredo emphasized that electing barangay officials is as important as voting for national elections.
“Much like our city and national polls, electing barangay officials is important as they stand to be the first unit of government we can turn to in times of need in the community,” she said.
“I hope that the winners of this elections will remember the value of public service and the mandate entrusted to them by the people,” added Robredo.
