Catanduanes jolted by 5.9 magnitude quake


A magnitude 5.9 earthquake has jolted the province of Catanduanes, the Philipppine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded.

The Phivolcs recorded a 5.9 magnitude at 2:19 pm with the epicenter in Pandan, Catanduanes.

Instrumental intensities were felt in: Guinayangan, Quezon, Sorsogon City with Intensity III.

Intensity II was felt in Lucban, Quezon.

The Phivolcs said that there are no damage to be expected but aftershocks might be felt.

The agency also said that the quake has a tectonic origin with a 46 kilometers depth of focus.

Several areas in Metro Manila likewise felt the earthquake.
