11 scholars of Palawan Capitol taking medicine set to graduate this year

The Palawan Provincial Government’s eleven scholars who are taking medicine are set to graduate this year.

Those who are expected finish medicine this year are Jakes Katherine Abad, Hanna Lei Gacott, Katherine C. Hernandez and Kenneth Libuit from South Western University Inc., Novy Lee Oblan and Geemarlyn Omar from Matias H. Aznar Memorial College and Karla Therese Lapeña from Dela Salle Health Sciences Institute.

Also set to graduate are Marianne Aira Paed from Fatima College of Medicine, Lois Tablazon from Iloilo Doctor’s College, Emillie Grace Tombucon from University of Perpetual Help and John Mark Tuting from University of Northern Philippines.

“Ang mga nakatakdang magtapos ng kursong medisina ay inaasahang maglilingkod sa lalawigan ng Palawan sa oras na maipasa ang Licensure Examination for Physicians base na rin sa nakasaad sa kontrata na kanilang pinirmahan,” said the province.

Aldrin L. Nepomuceno from IHELP-Education Unit, said that they are the first batch of scholars taking medicine.

The scholars are under the Programang Pang-Edukasyon para sa mga Palaweño (PPP) which is part of the IHELP or Infrastucture, Health, Education, Livelihood and Protection of the Environment.

“Sa ilalim ng programang ito, ang bawat iskolar ng kursong medisina ay pinaglalaanan ng P70,000 kada semestre ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan,” said the province.

“May kabuoang 81 medical students ang kasalukuyang pinapaaral ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan,” it added.
