Naga City’s Palarong Pambansa medalists get financial reward from city gov’t

The student-athletes from Naga City who bagged medals in Palarong Pambansa 2018 held in Vigan last month received cash prize from the city government.

Naga Mayor John Bongat said that aside from certificate of commendation and congratulatory resolution, the student athletes also get financial reward.

The citt governments gave P10,000 for every gold, P7,000 for silver and P5,000 for bronze.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PALARONG PAMBANSA Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists!,” said Mayor Bongat.

“Aside from the mayoral Certificate of Commendation and also another Sanggunian congratulatory resolution, they shall also receive cash incentives from the city for every gold (P10,000), silver (P7,000) and bronze (P5,000) medal received,” the mayor added

Mayor Bongat said that Julius Vasquez, the swimming sensation from Naga, will receive P47,000; Jose Tondo P12,000; Athiya Therese Dimaiwat (P5,000); Kearl Reylie Pineda (P5,000); and Mary Lovely Buenavidez (P5,000).

“May you continue inspiring your fellow athletes and other kids to become champions and achievers like you. Congrats too to your coaches and trainors and to your supportive parents!,” he said.

The mayor also hailed the parents and trainers of the medalists.

“I likewise salute all the other Naga athletes and their parents and our City and DepEd Naga sports officials (SDS William Gando and Sir Leo Damasig, among others) for all their sacrifices!,” he said.
