Naga City’s Palarong Pambansa 2018 medalists visit Mayor Bongat
Palarong Pambansa 2018 medalists from Naga City have paid a courtesy visit to Mayor John Bongat yesterday.
Julius Glen Vasquez of Naga Central School 1, Jearl Reylie Pineda of Camarines Sur National High School, and Mary Lovely Buenavidez of San Rafael Elementary School visited the mayor yesterday bringing their respective medals.
The three are among the Naga City student athletes who represented Bicol Region in the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
Vasquez bagged the gold medals in 200m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle category. He also won one (1) silver medal in the 4×100 Medley Relay, and four (4) bronze medals in the 200m Individual Relay, 100m Freestyle, 100 Butterfly and 4×50 Freestyle Relay.
Jose Tondo from Ateneo de Naga University got silver medal in the 4×100 Medley Relay and another bronze medal in the 4×50 Freestyle.
Meanwhile, Dimaiwat won a bronze medal in the EG Women’s Artistic Gymnastic category, while Jearl Reylie Pineda of Camarines Sur National High School bagged bronze medal for in the Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Buenavidez took home a bronze medal under the special event category in swimming.
The Bicol Region 13th overall with 8 gold medals, 16 silver and 28 bronze. National Capital Region is this year’s overall champion.
“Aside from the medals received, incentives and further recognition awaits the young athletes,” said the City government.
