May pabaon! Gov. Bichara provides P300K grant to Albayano athletes competing in Palarong Pambansa
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara made sure that his province’s delegates for the 2018 Palarong Pambansa are not just well trained but also well funded.
Bichara provided financial assistance worth P300,000 to the Albay contingents that are part of the delegates of the Bicol Region who will compete in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa 2018 to be held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
The country’s biggest annual sports tilt will start on April 15 to 21.
“108 Albayano athletes and officials are officially part of the Bicol team which shall compete for the highest youth sports spectacle honors in the country,” said the province.
Gov. Bichara is a well-known sports enthusiast. He aims to see Albay sports to be at par with the country’s best.
In a statement made last year in front of the previous delegates, Bichara said that his administration is pulling all the stops so that Albayano athletes will be exposed to the best training regimens that can be made available for them.
“We will put up facilities and upgrade or fix our existing ones, we will also try to invite some of the best trainers in the country to come here and train our athletes,” Bichara was quoted as saying
In the recently concluded Bicol Regional Meet, Albay placed 1st runner-up overall behind the province of Camarines Sur.
