The Philippine political scene is ever changing, and you don’t always know on which side you’ll end up.
Camarines Rep. Gabriel Bordado Jr. marveled at the fact that he was in a position to interpellate former President Benigno Aquino III and Public Attorney’s Office chief Persida Acosta during the recent House hearing on the purchase of Dengvaxia.
As President, Aquino was of course powerful and untouchable. But now that he’s a private citizen, he has to answer lawmakers’ questions just like any other resource person.
Thankfully, there are enough lawmakers who ask decent questions and don’t just use hearings to grandstand.
