Calapan City seeks stricter regulations on E-Games establishments

0

The City of Calapan will soon impose stricter regulations on electronic gambling in the city to mitigate its negative effects specially for the youth.

The city is currently acting on the proposed ordinance “regulating the establishment and operations of Electronic Games within the territorial jurisdiction of the City of Calapan and Providing penalties for violations thereof.”

The said ordinance aims to set clear-cut guidelines for the operations of E-Games establishments such as Permit, Location and Distance, Time of Operation, Social Responsibility, Rehabilitation Program, among others

The city council recently held a committee hearing attended by
Mr. Giann Vega,Common Gaming Corporation, Mr. Louie Capuno, Big Time Gaming Corp., Christopher Diaz,NDM Bingo Center, Carlo Valdehueza,Upshot Bingo, Great Delos Reyes,Sure Win Bingo, Atty. Joey Leynes at Ms. Ma. Lowelle Leyesa,B7 Amusement Corp.
and Mr. Romel Basco from City Business Permit and Licensing Section.

Meanwhile, E-Games establishments also said they are ready to provide corporate social responsibilities.
