Palawan gov’t holds Family Development Sessions for couples

The provincial government of Palawann through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), continues its series of Family Development Sessions (FDS) for couples in the province.
The FDS aims to strengthen the family relationship and to teach couples the proper way of family planning.
“Bahagi ng isinasagawang FDS ay ang talakayan patungkol sa Kahalagahan ng maayos na Pundasyon ng Pamilya sa isang Lipunan, Tungkulin at Responsibilidad ng Magulang, Relasyon ng Magulang sa Anak at ang mga alituntunin na dapat isaalang-alang sa pagtataguyod ng pamilya,” the provincial government said.
Every after session, a open forum is usually being held in the barangays to know the sentiments of the parents.
Rosario De Vera, Population Program Officer III ng PSWDO, said that the FDS teaches parents the proper way of family planning and taking care of the family members.
The said session is being done in partnership of the PSWDO, Commission on Population (POPCOM) and Municipal Social Welfare Development Offices (MSWDO) from various Palawan LGUs and other government agencies and non-government organizations.
De Vera said that in 2017, more than 20,000 couples have attended their sessions
“Ang Family Development Session ay bahagi ng programa ng POPCOM na itinatugyod ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan alinsunod sa Republic Act. No. 6365 na unang naisakatuparan noong taong 1972,” the province said.
“Ito ay naglalayong mabigyan ng maayos, masaya, malusog at maunlad na lipunan ang bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” it added.
