POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Naga City Mayor John Bongat felt nothing but pride after her daughter Jade took home 5 gold medals and one silver in the ongoing Palarong Bicol 2018.
After bagging medals, Jade was named the “Bicol’s Swimming Sprint Queen.”
“Bicol’s Swimming Sprint Queen in Elementary Rises: Naga’s Jade Bongat, an 11-year old grade 6 pupil of USI snatched her 4th individual gold medal today in 50m free, as the 3rd and last day of action in the swimming events of #PalarongBicol2018 comes to a close later this afternoon,” Bongat, a proud father, shared in his Facebook account.
Jade topped the last sprint, after grabbing the golds in 100m free, 100m back and 50m back in the first two days of the annual competition.
Naga City hosts this year’s Palarong Bicol.
Winners of the Palarong Bicol will qualify for Palarong Pambansa which will be held in April in Vigan.
“Her quadruple domination of the centerpiece sprint events in swimming has earned Jade the moniker as the Swimming Sprint Queen of Bicol! Jade’s total medal haul is 5 golds (4 individual plus 1 more gold in team event – 4×100 Freestyle Relay) and 1 silver (in another team event – 4×100 IM Relay),” said Mayor Bongat.
The mayor congratulated his daughter and the entire Naga team for bringing pride and honor to his city.
