The City Council of Calapan has called the attention of the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (ORMECO) and other telco and cable companies over its tangled wires that could pose danger to the residents of the city.

The City Council met with the officials of ORMECO and other cable TV networks and Telecommunications Companies last January 29 to discuss the matter.

The Calapan City has already approved Resolution No. 221 or Resolution enjoining ORMECO and all telecommunication companies and all cable television networks to fix and any array installed electrical and cable wires within the City of Calapan.

Coun. Tanyag-Panaligan is already drafting an ordinance that will set regulations that the said companies need to follow for their operations.

Present during the committee hearing were members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod and. Engr. Benjamin Acedera, City Engineering Officer.

Likewise present were Mr. Marfelix Acedera, CATSI- Operations Manager, Engr. Gil Narvaez, Globe Telecom-Field Operations Manager, Jonar Jabat, Globe Telecom-Field Officer, Clarck Alvin Enriquez, ORMECO- Special Equipment Supply Officer, Engr. Christian Erick Jugno, ORMECO-Cadet Engr., Mr. Jimmy To, TVNet-Consultant, Ms. Cherry Romero, TVNet-Operations Head and Ms. Jessa Jaen, Calapan Cable-Admin. Officer.
