Albay provincial gov’t continues to provide free medical mission for evacuees
The Provincial Government of Albay has provided free medical services for evacuees who are living in a barangay located within the 8 kilometer danger zone.
The said mission was part of series of medical services upon the orders and instruction of Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara.
“The said medical mission served residents in Barangay Quirangay Albay, which is within the 8 kilometer danger zone with a total of 634 families evacuated in Bariw National High School, and 127 families in Bariw Elementary School,” the province said.
The free medical services offered include dental, clinical, optical check-up, plus free medicines, corrected lenses, reading glass and face masks.
“Dental Health Bus and Mobile Laboratory were used to serve the health needs of more evacuees,” said the province.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with DOH, Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) and other private sectors teamed up to extend their services “in terms of livelihood opportunities.”
Moreover, free haircut were provided by Evegate Salon and graduate students of the Technical Development Training Academy.
“Mr. Alexandro M. Novora, DTI Representative of Albay said that they offer necessities and prime commodities at discounted prices, and as part of their commitment to serve the community,” the province said.
Meanwhile, other evacuation centers are also scheduled to be visited by the medical team “in the coming days.”
