Sipag! Calapan City council OKs key ordinances

The Sangguniang Panglungsod of Calapan City has touted its productivity after approving several key resolutions and ordinances.

“Muling pinatunayan ng Pang-pitong Sangguniang Panlungsod ang pagiging produktibong lingkod-bayan dahil sa mga nakalinyang mga panukalang ordinansa at resolusyon,” the city council said.

During the regular session last Jan. 16, several issues were tackled by the privilege speech of Councilors Rafael Panaligan Jr. and Felix Flores.

Panaligan delivered a privilege speech regarding the overflowing of a dike which is part of Bucayao and Panggalan rivers which could bring floods in several areas particularly Barangay Managpi.

Flores meanwhile talked about the resolution to act on the issue of tricycles being used by criminals as getaway vehicles.

Moreover, other motions approved were:

• Proposed resolution authorizing City Mayor, Hon. Arnan C. Panaligan to enter into Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by and between the City Government ofCalapan, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Road Board regarding the establishment of Locational Referencing System for all provincial and city roads.

• Proposed resolution granting the request of Calapan Farm Family Multi-purpose Cooperative (CALFFAMCO) for the condonation of debt amounting to 1,800,000.00

Other motion approved was:

• Proposed resolution authorizing City Legal Officer Atty. Tomas Lasquite to appear for and in behalf of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in the Application for the Renewal of Certificate of Public Convenience of Calapan Waterworks Corporation and at the same time directing him to file the motion to reset the hearing held on January 22, 2018 and request to hold the hearing in Calapan City.
