Palawan Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez has led the groundbreaking of the start of concreting of an eight-kilometer road traversing four barangays in Aborlan town yesterday, January 8.

Aside from Governor Alvarez, also present during the groundbreaking were rd District Congressman Gil P. Acosta, 3rd District Board Member Albert G. Rama, Aborlan Mayor Jaime M. Ortega at Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Representative Leny Escaro.

The eight-kilometer road is located in barangays Magbabadil, Baraki, Cabigaan, at Mabini.

According to the province, the concrete road will make it easier for the residents from these areas to transport their agricultural produce.

The province said that the project costs P116 million sourced from the Department of Interior and Local Government.

“Ito ay may pondong humigit sa isang daan at labing-anim na milyong piso na inilaan ng DILG sa ilalim ng Conditional Matching Grant for Provinces o CMGP dahil sa pagkamit ng lalawigan ng Palawan ng “Seal of Good Housekeeping,” it added.

The project is expected to be completed after two years and 55 days, according to the province.
