As he bids goodbye to 2017, Calapan City Mayor Panaligan looks forward to a more productive 2018
In his New Year’s Day video message, Panaligan said that 2017 was a good year for the city as more programs and projects were rolled out for the residents of Calapan
The mayor, meanwhile, said that he is looking for a more progressive new year with the guidance of the Lord.
Panaligan also looked back to the meaningful projects implemented by his administration in health, infrastructure, agriculture, housing and the awards and accolades the local government unit received last year.
The “Gold Card” program provides free monthly supply of maintenance medicines for senior citizens.
“Sa agirkultura, patuloy nating naipapatupad an gating programang AKAP or Angat Kabuhayan sa Agrikultura Programa, na naglalayong paunlarin ang sector ng pagsasaka at pangigisda sa ating lungsod,” he said.
For housing, the mayor also touted the HOPE program or the Housing Opportunities Towards People Empowerment, which gives opportunity for residents to have a house which they can call their own.
Panaligan also said that several infrastructure projects have been built in the city, which provided jobs and resulted to the entry of more investments in Calapan.
Panaligan also touted the awards the city bagged last year.
“Itinanghal ang Lungsod ng Calapan bilang one of three most competitive cities sa ating bansa. Tinanggap rin ang pagkilala na Seal of Good Local Governance o tatak ng mabuting pamamahala,” he said.
“Kinilala rin ang ating pagpupunyagi sa larangan ng disaster risk reduction and management sa pamamagitan ng pag-gawad sa atin ng Gawad Kalasag award,” said Panaligan.
The City also bagged award for its nutrition program and took home Best in Data-Driven Governance.
