Tama na satsat! Limit comments to legal issues, Lagman tells Calida

Albay 1st District Rep. Edcel Lagman advised Solicitor General Jose Calida to limit his comments to the legal issues raised in the petition against the extension of martial law in Mindanao before the Supreme Court.
Lagman’s comment came as a response to Calida’s statement that the Magnificent 7 bloc led by the lawmaker, which filed the petition on Wednesday (December 27), does not know any better than President Rodrigo Duterte and the majority of Congress which voted to extend martial law in Mindanao.
“He should not meander into proclaiming that the President and the supermajority of the Congress are above the Constitution as if they could do no wrong,” Lagman said.
Lagman, along with Reps. Tom Villarin, Edgar Erice, Teddy Baguilat, Gary Alejano and Emmanuel Billones took to the High Court anew to question the one-year extension of martial law in Mindanao granted by Congress just before it adjourned for the holidays.
