The Department of Tourism (DOT) office in Region IV-B has conducted series of Local Tourism Development Planning for local government units (LGUs) in the Province of Palawan.

The first part of the event was held in LGUs located in the south of Palawan, particularly towns of Roxas and Araceli on November 27 to 28, while towns located in north Palawan attended the planning on November 29 to 30.

“Layon ng aktibidad na maipakilala ang paggamit ng “Tourism Guidebook for Local Government Units” na magbibigay ayuda sa mga LGU na makabuo ng kanilang Local Tourism Development Plan,” the Palawan provincial government said.

“Para hindi na tayo gumawa ng makakapal na master plan; ito ay more on short-term plan at saka doable siya,” Chief Tourism Operations Officer Gladys A. Quesea of the DOT-MIMAROPA was quoted as saying.

Quesea said that the tourism master plan to be formulated by the LGUs should be SMART o Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Reliable and Time-bound.

“Bahagi rin pagbabalangkas ng mga tour circuit sa lalawigan kung saan isasama rito ang mga munisipyo na mayroong tourism sites upang matulungan ang iba pang mga munisipyo na mapuntahan ng mga dumarayong turista,” the Palawan provincial government said.
