Books over Barbies! Tabaco City councilor Sheina Onrubia shares love of reading to kids

There’s nothing like a book to tickle your imagination and take you to new adventures.

Tabaco City Councilor Sheina Onrubia has known this since she was a little girl.
On Facebook, she shared that when she was younger, receiving books made her feel more giddy than getting Barbie dolls.

As she put it, reading gave her the “sweetest kilig.”

Now that she’s older, she’s sharing her love of the written word to young students as she joins them in celebrating National Reading Month.

It’s truly a habit worth passing on to others.

“I remember when I was a little girl, my heart would jump for joy receiving books as gifts, more than Barbie dolls. Growing up, reading has given me the sweetest kilig (…and food). ?It’s always a delight to share this love to these promising kids of Barangay Basud plus a whole lot of lessons and insights from the story of the Prodigal Son. :)#NationalReadingMonth ,” she posted.
