A Puerto Princesa City councilor has filed an ordinance seeking to remove excessive imposition of commission on published rates on tourist destinations in Puerto Princesa.

“Isinusulong ngayon sa konseho ng Sangguniang Panlungsod ang isang panukalang ordinansa na naglalayong bawasan ang labis na pagpapataw ng komisyon ng ilang indibidwal o grupo sa published rates na inilabas ng City Tourism Council at ng mga travel and tours kaugnay sa mga tourist destination dito sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa,” the city said in a statement.

Councilor Jimbo Quicho Maristela, author of the ordinance, said that rates will be reduced significantly if the added commission will be removed.

“Ang nasabing usapin ay lumitaw sa isinagawang Public hearing para sa owners at operators ng travel and tours,” Puerto Princesa said in a statement.

Moreover, Maristela will also ask for an additional collector at the office of the Undergroud river.

Councilor Matthew Matt Mendoza, chairman Committee ng Tourism, also presided the said public hearing.
