Bawal pa rin ang balot, manok? Romblon gov stops movement of poultry products from Luzon
Takot kayo no?
Romblon Governor Eduardo Firmalo has issued an order disallowing the movement of poultry goods and products from Luzon and its islands to the island-province of Romblon.
Exempted from the order are those “sourced outside the 7km radius controlled area of Pampanga”.
Firmalo, in his order, said the province strictly follows the temporary ban issued by the Department of Agriculture through the Bureau of Animal Industry.
Among the prohibited poultry products are poultry meat, day-old chick, eggs, semen and manure from Luzon to any islets and islands of Romblon.
The executive order was signed Aug 16 and would be lifted automatically when there are no cases of Avian Influenza reported 50 days after the stamping out activity including the disinfection of affected areas.
Better sure than sorry. Thanks, gov!
