Why so slow? Globe, Smart invited by Palawan Council
How faster can we upload our selfies in Palawan?
The Palawan Regional Council is set to call representatives from the telecommunication giants Globe, Smart and the Department of Information and Communications technology on the first week of September to resolve the slow internet connection in the island province.
According to the Philippine Information Agency, the Council invited the DICT and two telecommunication companies to the next regional council session to explain to the public the reason for the very slow connection in the province.
“The province is now addressing all aspects of progress, especially in the infrastructure development to facilitate social and economic growth in Palawan. What is lacking right now is communications development. We have roads, water system and power development but communication is still an issue, Board member Albert Rama said in his privilege speech Tuesday.
Also on Tuesday, board member Roseller Pineda filed a resolution asking Globe Telecom to install a cell site in Barangay Casian, Taytay in Northern Palawan, to help boost the town’s tourism, fishing and aquaculture industries.
Let’s see next month. Palawan is a paradise. Better, though, if we can upload more selfies instantly!
