Hands down for the next Pacquiaos! Palawan gov honors 2 boxing champs
Can he also take a punch?
Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez, apparently proud of the recent feat of two Pinoy boxers who won gold for the Philippines, sponsored a dinner treat for the boxing association.
Kenneth de la Pena, 16, won over Kazakhstan’s Akilbek Mukhtarov in the pin-weight division while John Vincent Pangga, 15, defeated Thailand’s Sarawut Sukthet in the flyweight division during the 2017 ASBC Asian Juniors Boxing Championship.
De la Pena, a native of Gensan, and Pangga, of Cagayan de Oro, showcased Pinoy power ala Pacquiao during the boxing competition held at the Puerto Princesa coliseum in Palawan.
Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines Secretary-general Ed Picson @edcaster shows on Instagram a photo of Alvarez giving him a coffee table book with the Tubbattaha Reef as cover photo.
The “beautiful” coffee table book was a gift for everyone, Picson said, thanking the governor. “Sumbag (Punch) Pinoy!” he added.
