Moment of truth has arrived for SGLG-aiming Catanduanes

The Provincial Government of Catanduanes hosted on Thursday (June 1) the Regional Assessment Team from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

This was in line with the province’s bid for another Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), which is a coveted award that attests to a local government unit’s (LGU) exemplary performance in governance.

“THIS IS IT. Finally, the time has come to conduct the 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance Assessment in Catanduanes,” Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua said on his Facebook.

“It is hoped that Catanduanes will make it again and be an SGLG Hall of Famer awardee,” he said, making no bones about it.

“The assessment and the quest for the award encourages all local government officials to serve with utmost dedication and poses a challenge to level up our performances in rendering the best services to the people of Catanduanes,” he added.

In January, the politiko issued a directive reconstituting the Local Governance Performance Management System – Seal of Good Local Governance (LGPMS-SGLG) for the province of Catanduanes.

The LGMPS is an indicator and web-based system that has ability to generate information benchmark from which may evolve decisions and reforms to improve local government administrative capabilities.
