Kakaiba to! CamNorte Mayor Pajarillo says Hammock Festival is on
The Municipality of Mercedes in Camarines Norte will try to put itself on the map with a quirky festival this weekend.
Mayor Alexander Lo Pajarillo said the festival will be all about hammocks, or swinging beds (duyan).
The politiko, in a Brigada News FM Daet report Thursday (May 25), said all systems are go for the first ever “Bicol Hammock Festival.”
The event will take place between May 27 and 28 at the beautiful Apuao Pequeña beach in Mercedes.
Among the Hammock Festival happenings lined up by the city government include hiking, snorkeling, and swimming activities.
The main thrust of the festival is environmental protection and conservation, it was learned.
Mayor Pajarillo thanked the organizers for choosing Mercedes as the site for the event, saying it would surely boost local tourism.
