Push mo yan! Catanduanes Gov Cua sees energy potential in garbage
The lack of proper garbage collection has been a recurring problem in Bicolandia.
In efforts to spare Catanduanes this problem, Governor Joseph Cua is seriously considering a plan to convert the province’s waste into renewable energy.
“In response to the letter sent by Mr. Robert C. Brennan of Organic Power Ireland Ltd., I invited the Mayors of the 11 towns and their Municipal Planning and Development Officers, Solid Waste Management Officers and concerned department heads for a consultative meeting to be able to address the challenges of solid waste management in the province,” Cua wrote on his Facebook.
“His proposal is about developing a Sustainable Waste to Energy System that can divert over 90% of Municipal Solid Waste away from landfills to produce renewable energy,” the politiko said of Brennan.
Sounds good to us!
