Gov Bichara gives seniors citizens centerstage in Magayon Festival
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara keeps cranking out projects that put a smile on local senior citizens’ faces–and the 2017 Magayon Festival was no exception.
Last Thursday (May 11), the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) held an event called “Barrio Fiesta para kay Lolo at Lola” at the Albay Park and Wildlife Covered Court to honor the province’s elders.
The event is among the calendared events of this year’s Magayon Festival.
Barrio Fiesta could actually be seen as two separate events in one.
The two main events of the program were the “Ang Lolo at Lola kong Fasyonista,” and the Ballroom Dancing Contest.
In the fashion show, the contestants had two opportunities to strut their wares, first during their Tropical attire portion, and second during the Barong and Filipiniana attire portion.
Winning the search was Mr. Roni Llaguno from Malilipot, Albay for the “lolo” category. Meanwhile, for the “lola” category, Ms. Cynthia Chan from Ligao City was declared victor.
For the Ballroom Dancing Contest, where contestants danged the tango, the Tabaco City duo of Gerudio Colorico and Jean Miraflores copped first place honors.
