Gabriela- CamSur wants Sotto rapped for single mom remark

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
The Camarines Sur chapter of the Gabriela Women’s Party wants Senator Tito Sotto to pay for his distasteful comment regarding single mothers.
Nelsy Rodriguez of Gabriela-CamSur, in an interview over Brigada News FM Naga Wednesday (May 10), said the group supports the filing of appropriate charges against the comedian-turned-politiko.
The current criticism against Sotto stemmed from his statement during a Commission on Appointments (CA) hearing at the Senate earlier this week wherein he described single mothers as “na-ano Lang” in street lingo.
Sotto specifically directed the comment to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary-designate Judy Taguiwalo, who is single but has two daughters.
The senator has since apologized for his remark.
Still, Rodriguez said that Gabriela is now looking at drafting a law or resolution that would compel government officials like Sotto not to discriminate women.
Rodriguez further said that women should be respected.
