DOLE-Bicol launches ‘Labor Clinic’ ahead of May 1 Job fair
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Bicol on Saturday launched a “Labor Clinic,” which served as a prelude to the jobs and business fairs prepared as part of Labor Day activities.
DOLE-Bicol Director Ma. Karina P. Trayvilla said that the “clinic” is another innovation of the agency to find out concerns of both workers and management on labor issues.
It includes the attached agencies of DOLE and their representatives such as the National Labor Relations Commission or NLRC, National Conciliation and Mediation Board or NCMB and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB).
In Bicol, DOLE is adopting a “hybrid labor clinic” that adopts the concept of the central office but utilizes an existing information feedback system already in place such as the DOLE Bicol Hotline (0918) 309-6665 and Bicol One Stop Service Center for Overseas Filipino Workers or OSSCO, said Trayvilla.
She said the Bicol clinic would also serve as an information advocacy hub for the program and services of DOLE.
Meanwhile, the livelihood beneficiaries of DOLE will be displaying and marketing their products at the Magayon festival booth at Peñaranda Park, Legazpi City given for free by the provincial government of Albay, she said.
She said the booth, that will be open to the public from May 1 to 30, is a strategy to help DOLE’s livelihood beneficiaries in displaying and marketing their products.
As to the business and job fairs set on May 1 to 3, DOLE-Bicol is gearing for its “Trabaho, Negosyo Kabuhayan” or TNK caravans in Legazpi City and Naga City that will be providing job applicants with choices for entrepreneurship in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry.
