Dios Mabalos! Tinio welcomes ACT-Bicol to public school teachers’ alliance
Public school teachers in Region V received a big boost following the formal accreditation of Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT)-Bicol by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
A Bicol Standard report said that the certificate of accreditation was received by ACT-Bicol leaders at the local DepEd office Monday, February 13.
Antonio Tinio, who represents ACT-Teachers party-list in Congress, said the accreditation makes ACT Bicol the “sole and exclusive negotiating agent of the 50,000 public school teachers of the Bicol Region.”
Moreover, Tinio said ACT Bicol has effectively joined the ranks of ACT-NCR, ACT-Davao Region, and ACT-Region VI as accredited unions. The entire nationwide alliance represents some 180,000 public school teachers.
ACT National Chairperson Benjamin Balbuena hailed the accreditation of ACT- Bicol in his speech. #
