CamNorte Gov Tallado keeps post, thanks to CA injunction

The camp of controversial Camarines Norte Governor Edgar Tallado has been granted a writ of preliminary injunction by the Court of Appeals (CA) 3rd division.
It can be recalled that late last year, the Office of the Ombudsman issued a dismissal order against Tallado. However, this was halted by a 60-day temporary restraining order (TRO) from the CA on December 12, 2016.
The 60-day period expired last Thursday, February 9.
A Bicol Standard report said that the preliminary injunction was issued also on Thursday.
With the CA injunction, Tallado, who was reelected to his post in May 2016, may continue to serve as the province’s top executive.
The politiko’s dismissal had to do with then charge on gross immorality that was filed against him by one Jonel Banal. He was also earlier suspended for an entire year, from October 2015 to October 2016.
It was in 2015 when a sex video of the politiko and his mistress went viral online.
