Robredo: No to Bato’s resignation but bad cops must be punished
Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has found an ally in Vice President Leni Robredo following calls for his resignation.
In an interview in Bulacan Friday (Jan. 27), Robredo said Dela Rosa’s resignation will not solve the problems confronting the PNP.
Dela Rosa recently came under fire because of the news that a Korean businessman was killed inside Camp Crame in October last year, purportedly by cops.
President Rodrigo Duterte, however, was adamant that the PNP chief remain in his post.
Robredo said it is not enough for erring policemen to be reassigned.
